Code of Conduct

U-TEC Hackathon Beta (β) is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants, regardless of their background or skill level. We expect all attendees, sponsors, volunteers, and organizers to adhere to the following Code of Conduct to ensure a positive and productive experience for everyone.

1. Respect and Inclusion

• Treat all participants with respect and kindness. Harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.
• Be patient, inclusive, and supportive of all participants, regardless of their skill level or background.
• Avoid making demeaning, discriminatory, or inappropriate remarks, whether in person, online, or in communication.

2. Collaboration and Competition

• Foster a collaborative environment by sharing knowledge and helping others grow.
• Hackathons are about learning and innovation. Focus on pushing boundaries and creating new ideas.
• Maintain teamwork and mutual respect. Any sabotage or unethical behavior will result in disqualification.

3. Integrity and Fairness

• Projects must be created during the event. Any prior work should be disclosed.
• Do not plagiarize or use someone else’s work without proper attribution. Violations will result in disqualification.
• Judging will be based on merit, creativity, and impact. Ensure all submissions reflect your team's effort.

4. Professional Conduct

• Engage with sponsors, judges, and mentors professionally.
• Respect the venue and resources. Clean up after yourself and dispose of waste properly.
• Participants are responsible for their own belongings. Organizers are not liable for loss or damage.

5. Reporting and Enforcement

• If you experience or witness violations of the Code of Conduct, report them to the organizers immediately.
• Violations may result in removal from the event, disqualification, or other appropriate actions by the organizers.

6. Health and Safety

• Take care of your physical and mental health during the hackathon. Take breaks, eat, and stay hydrated.
• Follow local health and safety regulations and any specific guidelines set by the event organizers.
